It's Halloween and just like any other Friday, it's a quiet night at home. I don't get excited about Halloween as others. I haven't gotten excited about dressing up since I was a child.I still like the candy though. Tonight, we will watch The Strangers on dvd. I hope it gives me a Halloween scare!
This is what I've worn the last couple of days:
Rhys Dwfen dress, Gap camisole, Loomstate hoodie, American Apparel leggings, Minnetonka boots, Iosselliani necklace
Vince top, Marc by Marc Jacobs top, Original Penguin cardigan, Rich & Skinny jeans, Miss Sixty boots, J.Crew bracelet

Okay... so I'm so sorry for being a bad blogger. Instead of spending evenings updating my blog, I have been taking work home and working on it straight to bedtime. Don't worry, I'm still fitting in my favorite shows inbetween.
I have been taking pictures of my outfits but AGHAST... I look horrible. I'm just feeling yucky, bloated, and so unphoto-worthy. I don't know what the deal is. Oh... and I hate everything in my closet. Maybe, if I didn't feel like a huge cow, my closet wouldn't be so bad. C'est la vie!
So... if I was as tiny as Kate Moss, this is what I would want to wear in her latest Topshop Collection. It freakin' stinks that lots of it is already sold out (not as if I was going to order anything).
I love the frilly, girly dresses. They would be great paired with some tough boots or a leather jacket. Scarves need no explanation. They are simply FABULOUS. I need some new bottoms and these would be perfect. You can't knock skinny pants. And sadly, I have to say the belt and jacket are sold out but we can just lust at the pictures.
jungle flower printed scarf $70
heart and chain printed scarf $70
checkerboard scarf $70
breton tee $70 and spot scarf $80

sequin cummerbund belt $100
brocade trousers $110
spotted print dress $125
heart print dress $125
1920s printed tea dress $125
This one isn't new but it's still lovely.

I really want this dress. For $38, there isn't much stopping me either (except for the fact that I can only get it online). It's part of Gap's current European Collection. I love the buttons going down the back. And, I can see it now- over turtlenecks, with tights, with a long cardigan, and/ or a scarf wrapped around my neck.
It reminds me of the $255 Acne 'Global' dress. Okay, so they are not exactly the same but they are close enough that I'd rather pay $38. Now... I have to decide between true navy or plymouth rock. I'm leaning towards true navy.

I was watching SNL last night and Adele was the musical performance. Though she didn't sing Hometown Glory on the show, I listened to it on Myspace and now I can't stop. Adele's voice is powerful yet poetic. I have to get her CD. Maybe you find her insane vocals as hypnotizing as me.
Today, Hubby and I went out for dim sum. It was deliiiciousss.
Afterwards, I had the clever idea to go to the Galleria. I wanted to check out the alice+olivia shoes at Payless. I'm so glad we went, too, because they were horribly tragic on me. I think you need to be 6 feet or uber skinny to make them work. Anyways, I no longer need to think about them anymore. They are off my wish/ must purchase list.
Before leaving the mall, I wanted to go into Zara. After a walk through, I was about to leave when I saw someone pass me in an AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS outfit. When I looked up to get a full view, I locked eyes with Jane's mom, Jane from Sea of Shoes, for a second. It took me a moment to realize who I was looking at. I quickly looked around and lo and behold, there was Jane looking at a rack along the walls. To not be obvious, I only had a glimpse of her in her big, floppy hat.
Now, to the world, Jane is just another person as you and me. In the blogosphere, she is very well known... practically famous. It's odd to say this but it was as if I was in the midst of celebritydom. If any of you were curious, Jane's mom was in a blue/ white striped button down tucked into a full, yellow skirt and tall boots (at least what I noticed from a distance). She looked immaculate. I wish my mom was as cool as Jane's. Instead, I have a mom that matches head to toe in nothing that a woman should be seen in.
Give me leather... LOTS and LOTS of leather. I want leather jackets, vests, skirt, pants... you name it. Turn a romantic look a little bit rough or make a rough outfit look rougher. Go for lightweight, buttery leather or take on structure. Don't go head to toe though unless you are into the dominatrix look or trying our for a heavy metal band.
Mike & Chris 'Kelvin' leather jacket $618
Mike & Chris 'Leighton' boyfriend blazer $775
Loeffler Randall leather jacket $695
Twenty8Twelve 'Gillian' leather jacket $700
Ever 'Rhuddlan' jacket $805
Alexander Wang leather vest $824
Helmut Lang leather leggings $875
Rogan 'Edmonds' coat $960
Mike & Chris 'Alistair' convertible jacket $965
(I love how this jacket can 'convert' into a vest, a very clear winner.)
Grai 'Anouk' draped motorcyle jacket $1119
Acne 'Dynamo' leather dress $1199
Rag & Bone leather dress $1325
Alexander Wang leather blazer $1350
I saw the picture below on the Fashion Spot and my eyes popped out when I saw the leather jacket the model is wearing. If you know who makes it, please share!

YAY! Leanne won on Project Runway. My eyes started to tear when they announced her as the winner. I couldn't be happier.
Leanne wasn't my favorite designer throughout the season. In actuality, I didn't have a favorite. In my opinion, it was another season of ho hum designers. I don't think any season can beat season 2. You had Chloe, Andrae, Santino, Nick, and Daniel. How can you beat that? Okay... back to season 5. Though I wasn't completely impressed with each designer, I continued to watch. Towards the end and all the weak designers got filtered out, the show started to get better. I was really hoping that Jerrell was in the final 3 but I can't complain about an all female finale. GIRL POWER! (okay, not really)
Anyways... Leanne came out and impressed me BIG TIME. I love the whole color scheme. It was ethereal and dreamy. Never really caring about her petal-like pleating throughout the season, it really worked in her finale runway show. The clothes were flirty but not juvenile. I would wear it all (almost). Go Leanne!

I wouldn't mind having this bag... I wouldn't mind at all. My mouth first started drooling when I saw it at Barneys. The washed leather is BUTTERY SOFT which doesn't usually sell me a bag but it is truly amazing. If the leather wasn't enough, the chain straps are KILLER... KILLER I tell you. If I had to choose only one bag this year, it would be this one (for now).

I didn't have to go to work today. Yay! When Hubby said he was in the mood for pho (Vietnamese beef noodle soup), I said, "Okay." I can never say no to pho. It makes the world go round.
We decided to try a new place. It worked out perfectly because we got the chance to go the new Asian grocery store, too. Tip of the Day- Buy your produce and meat from an Asian grocery store. It's so much cheaper. I also stopped by Lee's Sandwich, a phenomenon in California and now Texas. Their banh mi tit (Vietnamese sandwich) is okay to put it kindly but they have AWESOME iced coffee. I bought a concentrated bottle that will make many glasses of iced coffee. YUM!
We also stopped by a Payless that was along the way so I could see the alice + olivia shoes but no dice. I didn't know they were in select stores. I guess that means a trip to the Galleria is in my future but I think I will more than likely just order them online. I'm not in the mood to go to the mall... I know. Crazy, right? The state of the US economy, as well as my own economy, suggests it's better to stop shopping. After I buy the ponte dress from Target, a couple Kain tanks from Sway and Cake, and possibly a Paypless purchase... I'm taking a breather (hopefully).
