I've recently bought two pairs of boots from Barneys (I'll share them with you soon.). I also saw this Co-Op pair when checking out the site. After making a phone call, I discovered that there is a pair left in Beverly Hills.

Pull-on ankle boot? Check. Mid-heel Wedge? Check. Interesting leather detail along the front? Check. Do you think I should get them? I don't want to spend $12 to ship if they are a dud.

All I can think about lately are shoes. I've been on a mission. I only like maybe 6 pairs of my shoes and the rest really should be trashed (not even worth giving to Goodwill). The last post was about a shoe that I love but know would only see the light of my closet. Now these... I bet I would wear all the time. They don't look like much when pictured alone so I tried to give it some justice with J.Crew pictures from their catalog (where I discovered these shoes and the small shoe company that hand makes them). They are not pretentious. They are no show stoppers. They are a combination of cute and comfort. Oh... I think I am in love.

Dolce Vita 'April' pumps

I really want these pumps. My sanity is telling me that even with a 1 inch platform, it doesn't make up for the 5 inch heel. My rule is no greater than a 3 inch difference. Basically, I learned that I can do 3 inches for 8 hours. Um... maybe these won't kill. These are seriously HOT. Can I get an AMEN?

Last weekend, I was browsing the Target website wondering if any cute lines have come by its way and lo and behold... the Anna Sui line just came out. I instantly drove to my closest Target and tried on a rack of clothes. A lot of it is cute and if I had money to waste, I might have bought a few things. But $70 for a dress I would probably only wear once (and then get uninterested), that wasn't going to happen.

I did find one must buy item and just made sure to hold my breath as I went through the check-out line. It's this silk jumper... full of pockets, grossgrain ribbons to adjust along the waist and back, and fun pleats. I bought it in my usual size since it's meant to be oversized. With the ties, I can make as loose or fitted as I want. Plus, it's a seasonless piece so I'm going to wear it tons.

It's been awhile since I've gotten excited by anything on Etsy. I was looking for a camera ring which somehow lead to a boombox necklace which then lead me to Road Kill (or Elaine Ho Jewelry). Road Kill is an Etsy shop that specializes in handcrafted silver jewelry. She's got crazy categories like nerd, all you can eat, and roadkill. Sometimes when you see a scarf worn just like how you want it (in a magazine or online or on a person), you try to save that picture. Still... at the end of the day, you're a little bit lost and you go back to that go-to style.

I've been in dire need of shoes. Well, to be clear, I have a LOT of shoes. Unfortunately, I don't like most of them. I should seriously do a thorough review of my shoes and clean house.

Well, today, I decided to stop by Barneys and see if there was anything worth buying. Most of their clearance has an additional 25% off price. I found two pairs. Tell me if they are worth keeping.

I have been needing a pair of flats that were good for work. Coincidentally, I have been eyeing this pair. I remember seeing them on the website in white and grey... so I got myself a pair of Lanvin flats and I think they're perfect.

I also need a pair of sandals so I got these by Fiorentini + Baker. (Yes, I bought a pair at the start of warmer weather but they've been begging for a break) I think these are good for everyday wear. They have some interesting details and are very comfortable. They've also got a perfect mix of girlishness and androgyny.

This is what I wore today. I debut my new haircut. I got my haircut about 4 weeks ago but HATED it. I don't know why but I allowed myself to endure it but sanity took over and I went back to get it fixed yesterday. Sergio was nice enough to fix my hair. I'm more than pleased. Lesson learned- if you don't like your cut, don't be shy to let the stylist know. They want to make you happy.

Target's latest GO Collection somehow crept by without any attention from me. I was just browsing the Target site and was surprised by a collection by Tracy Feith. Where have I been? To be honest, I didn't even know who he was. I didn't even know he was a he.

I'm a little bit perplexed by the collection. For the most part, it's too bright and floral for my taste. If I had money to waste, I might pick up one or two of the solid dresses. Instead, I'd like to keep my money in the bank (until I pick up a Jas MB bag). In the meantime, I think I can handle getting this top. For some reason, I love it.

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have but when a deal like this comes by, you can't let it pass. Barneys had 40% off women's denim for one day so I stopped by. I tried on a pair of PRPS. Though I still want a pair, these were a bit too distressed and just plain trying too hard... so I passed. I also tried on several pairs of Current/ Elliott. I came home with these two- the boyfriend and the super slouchy skinny. They are so amazingly soft and comfortable, they are worth buying at regular price. Oh... and having to go one and two sizes smaller than my usual size definitely helps the self-esteem.

It's completely different than Revolve Clothing. They focus on "emerging designers and progressive collections from around the world." So... I couldn't help myself. I watched this movie last Tuesday and I've been itching to share it with you. It's Let the Right One In.

I have a thing for scary movies. In particular, I like anything with ghosts, aliens, zombies, or vampires- 28 Days Later, The Grudge, The Ring, Blade, The Horror, The Shining, Aliens, 30 Days of Night, The Lost Boys, etc. (I'll pass on slasher and gore films) After watching 30 Days of Night on cable (it's much better than I thought it would be), it got me on a quest to find more vampire movies. It would be then I would find Let the Right One In.

When the Movie Moron wrote- "This quiet, brooding Swedish film balances realism and magic with such skill you forget you’re actually watching a vampire film disguised as a childhood drama. The plot reads like a Tim Burton Hallmark Special: a young boy befriends a vampire who helps him discover his true strength and fight back against bullies. But the haunting performances from these child actors and the clever art-house cinematography lend the gravity to raise this film to a whole new level."- I was intrigued but I didn't know what to think about it. Is it a vampire film or a drama?

Luckily, I wasn't let down at all. It's beautiful, it's poetic, it's moving. Though it's a vampire film, I couldn't help but find myself involved in the developing relationship between Oscar and Eli. I wanted to know more. I got a lot more than a vampire movie; I became engulfed by the strange relationship of 2 12-year olds. (Oh... and make sure to change the audio to Swedish because it'll automatically play in English and that just sucks to listen to dubbing.)

Now, I want to read the book. I'm also very curious if the American version set to release next year will be half as good as its Swedish counterpart (because Americans seem to do a good job ruining a good thing when it comes to movies). Yeah... I said it.

first day of spring

I've been MIA from the blogsophere for the past week and I'm truly sorry for that. Both of my blogs have suffered from it but what are you to do during spring break? In my case, not much. Okay, maybe a little bit. I've caught up on lots of movies (You have to see Let the Right One In if you haven't already; I was even considering posting about it.); took defensive driving (I do not recommend doing it online); and met up with a friend for some lunch and a bit of shopping.

It's officially spring and today's weather was beautiful. I finally made it to my friend's new house that's all the way out in the boonies. We ate lunch at Flying Fish, stopped by Ikea so my friend could buy her husband's birthday gift, made a quick trip to the mall so I could pick up a couple necessities, and browsed through Barnes and Noble so I could find the novel to Let the Right One In (yes, it's that good that I wanted to read the book) but no dice.

I'm in LOVE with Renata Mann jewelry. I first discovered them when I was browsing the Urban Outfitters website. It was a must that I get my hands on them. When I was shopping a couple weekends ago, I was surprised to see them at a UO storefront. It's rare to see the online jewelry in the stores. Anyways, can you say HAPPY? Because that's how I felt. I went straight to the counter and it went straight home with me. I've worn it a couple times (including today). All day long, I play with the metal beads within the knitted necklace. I think I need to get more.

When I was checking out the tag, I saw there was a website. I found these beautiful lovelies.

To top it all off, I learn that they have an Etsy store. Where have I been? I'm going to have to get another Renata Mann piece!

I can't stop wearing skirts under dresses. I just love it. I'm especially happy when the lengths work well together.

I also never dreamed that one of my favorite pieces of clothing would come from Target. I could wear this Jonathan Saunders dress everyday. I kind of wish I had two for when this one dies.

Oh... and the necklace. I can go on about that but I will save that for the next post!

Oh... and I finally cleaned up my dining room after having three-month guests so I have my ideal photo spot back. YAY!

So... you might recall, I bought a ton of Chanel make-up recently including the multi-use make-up palette in lumière tendresse. Since I bought it without actually seeing it in person, I was weary to try it until I was able to visit Barneys and have someone put it on me. I went last Saturday and boy am I happy I did. The Chanel lady applied it on me and I was so embarrassed by the results, I started to remove it. She and the lady who originally helped me had the nerve to tell me that I looked good. PLEASE! I looked like a 60 year old woman with a bad make-up application of all the wrong colors. I had to instantly return it. I ended up getting quadra eyeshadow in mystic eyes, glossimer in sirop, and nail colour in splendeur. Barneys ran out of the eyeshadow and after a trip to Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, I found it at the latter. I've been wearing the eyeshadow and lip gloss non-stop.

On my birthday, I received a package in the mail from my cousin Julie. She had gotten me the quadra eyeshadow in smoky eyes. She almost got it for me for Christmas but I said no. I wasn't sure how much I would love it. I must have been smokin' crack because it's gorgeous. It's easy to wear day or night and I have been wearing it since I received it. Mystic eyes and smoky eyes are now battling for some eye attention.

When I saw this blog post about the le sac dress, I was very excited about the different ways I could wear my own. I wish I could remember where I found this picture. I also need to get the faux leather strap.

I decided to attempt to wear the dress as a skirt. I wish only the straps had stayed in place as I put them in the morning but since I have to move around a lot, they ended up more near my waist. And I know you can't tell but the dress is navy.

If I could buy only one dress year, it would have to be this circular dress by Cosmic Wonder Light Source. It comes in two pieces- the tank dress and a separate circular piece with three head/arm openings. I can only imagine all the ways it can be worn and traveling would be so easy. My carry on would just need some great pairs of shoes, accessories, and my make-up. So where should I go?

When I saw this denim jacket, my first thought was- that is the f****** most beautiful denim jacket I have ever seen! And then I saw the leather version which is oddly enough cheaper than the denim but no less gorgeous. I can't afford either but a girl can dream...

It's going to take me awhile to accept the shoulder pads look. I was a little girl in the 80s and I remember seeing them inside my mom's clothes. I always thought it was a little weird to see those foam attachments. They were either sewn in or attached with velcro. In this case, the broader shoulders on the denim jacket only adds to its fabulousness.

When I bought the dress, it was a little big for me so I took it to the tailors. He fixed it at the shoulders which brought up the dress. To give me some length, I wore a skirt underneath. It didn't really make much of a difference and I kept tugging on the skirt to bring it down. I wish more of it was visible but the skirt is a bit short, too. At least the skirt got some wear since it hasn't seen daylight since last summer. I love layering dresses and skirts.

The temporary solution of buying some American Apparel t-shirts is no longer cutting it for me. Those shirts are now reserved for bed (though I still like my acid wash ones).

Somewhere, there is a loose-fitting, wide (scoop) neck, long tee that is exactly for me. Though this t-shirt is starting to seem mythical, I still have hope that it's out there. Everything I have found have either been too oversized, not long enough, or not scoop neck. It's all about how it drapes against my body. I'm thinking that one of these t-shirts below will fulfill my t-shirt need. After you see this list, the Alexander Wang t-shirts won't seem so expensive either.

For the sake of some anonymity, I rarely show my face here. Now, two times in row and I take pictures that include my face. Don't expect it often.

My hair and I are starting to come to terms with each other. I started to use Bumble and Bumble shampoo and conditioner again. I never realized what a difference the right shampoo and conditioner cane make until I started to use Bumble and Bumble. Since finishing the last bottle and now, I have been trying to finish half bottles of other stuff I thought I loved and the Davines travel sizes I bought. Though I'm not as bad as my mom, she's instilled in me a hate for wasting. Anyways... to the point, this has been the first day that I've liked my hair to the end of the day. Maybe I will make it through my attempt to grow out my hair (some).

I love this dress so much, too. It can scream flashy and disco but worn the right way, it's not so obnoxious. I should really wear it more often.

In my attempt to wear more of my clothes, I'm wearing some things I haven't worn in awhile- dress and both cardigans. I have another one of the blue cardigan but in grey. I do that a lot and I need to stop because I've had the grey cardigan for a year and it still has the tag on it.

The scarf is new... a gift from my friend Amee (thanks, Amee).

It was mailed to me a couple weeks ago. I have a love/ hate relationship scarves. I LOVE them so much but can't figure out for shit how to wear them as gorgeously as others do because of my thick, short neck. It just looks like I have one of those neck casts but prettier. So... the range of wearing them is limited. Today, I decided to wear it as a belt. Later in the day, I took it off and just wore it hanging around my neck. I want to learn how to wear scarves likes those salesgirls at Madewell do so effortlessly.

When I was in Houston over Christmas, I stayed with my cousin and his family for a few days before trekking over to my brothers. It was good times, too. His wife was going through some stuff she had in boxes and she gave me this wrap cardigan. She had bought the cardigan on deep clearance but didn't know how to wear it so it became mine- new with tags. It's a bit large but I think I still make it work. Thanks, Juls.

It's been a long while since I've done a must have list. I used to do them all the time. Then, I hit a must have roadblock. But, I started to think about dresses again. Yes, I have a ton. But, my wardrobe needs an update.

Right now, I'm searching for sleeved dresses. I get sucked up by all the fabulous sleeveless dresses which I don't need at all. Yeah, I still want them but I tend to accompany them with a cardigan. With the upcoming hot Texas weather, it's self defeating. I want short sleeved dresses that work perfectly all on its own. Okay... so I added a few sleeveless dresses. I can't help it. And I also tried to make this list about the 10 dresses I HAVE to have. After lots editing, I think I got it right (with 12).

You might notice a theme among the dresses I have chosen. I'm looking for fluid shapes and clean lines with an open neck. The great thing about these kind of dresses is that they are easily updated with a belt. I also like solemn neutrals but I have a penchant for florals and polka dots, too.

I got two pairs of lace tights from Urban Outfitters back in December/ January. The pair I wore today I have worn before. Well, today... I wanted to wear the other pair. When I put them on, I realized there is nothing S/M about them. They were SO LONG! I can only hope UO will let me exchange them. Wasting money pisses me off. If only the right pair was in the right packaging the first time...

Somehow, I took over an hour to get ready this morning, too. I didn't even take on, take off, take on clothes as I do on many day (okay, maybe I did a little). I do look at my closet though and see nothing. I need a wardrobe revamp.

The goodies have arrived. I got a whole lotta stuff from Barneys during their Love Yourself beauty event. I'm going to be having a lot of fun pampering myself. Barneys knows how to host a beauty event. It makes Neiman Marcus' gifts look like scraps and leftovers. (Of course, Barneys makes you spend the dough but it's oh so worth it.)

I ran into this blog post by Love is Battle Droid about her 8 best purchases of 2008. I was immediately intrigued by the Sponge Avocado Oil. With a little research, I found out that Barneys carried the line. I couldn't be happier as I had something to kickstart my beauty purchase. Putting oil on your face can sound a bit daunting but this is no regular oil. Luckily, I was given some samples before my purchase and I completely understood what Leila was talking about. It's pure heaven on your face. A few drops spread all over my face is quickly absorbed and left my skin baby butt soft. Because I wanted to buy something from Sponge, I also got a full size bottle of lavender aromatherapy mist and a sample of the body milk. SCORE! I was contemplating purchasing the lavender mist and didn't have to. By the way, it's just what I imagined... a refreshing spritz of lavender water.

It's sad when you come up with imaginative ways to get what you have left out of your mascara tube. I've painfully needed a new tube within the last few weeks. Somehow, I was able to make it before this tube arrived. I have never loved a mascara as much as I do this one. (I thought I was in love with Diorshow when I received a sample but when I bought a tube, there was nothing remotely similar.) As for the lip gloss, I played with this color the last time I was at Neimans but saved it for this purchase. I bought the very similar myriade a couple weeks ago but this one has less color (for the days, I just want glossy, shimmery lips).

I had a sudden need for a Chanel make-up palette. Since I was ordering my stuff from a Barneys out of state and had nothing really good to help me decide which palette was best (and the fact that this was the only one they had), I got Lumière Tendresse. Without actually seeing it in person, I'm very happy. Lumière Romantique would have been too neutral. My make-up usually goes two ways: dramatic or lightening/ brightening. This palette will be nice for weekend trips, my handbag, or for those days I want to brighten up my face.

I have the OPI knock-offs of these colors but there's nothing like the real thing.

And... here is my goody bag. Every inch of space was used for some kind of sample. There was some full size products in it, too. I like receiving samples more than I use them (I tend to give them away). The bag is so pretty though. I will be happy to use it.

Why did I get so much Chanel? Who knows... I'm on a Chanel kick. I can kick the person I ordered this from. If I just bought one more item, I could have gotten the Chanel gift. That's what I get for ordering from the guy at the By Terry counter.

I bought this dress years ago from a store that no longer exists yet I've only worn it twice (yesterday and a couple months ago). I'm thinking it needs to be shortened because the length bugs me. That's probably why it's been sitting in my closet.

These shoes have gone on somewhat of a crazy ride. I went to some trouble to get them. Then, I found its canvas twin for a fraction of the original price. You may have noticed that I enjoy wearing the canvas pair more. Then, I had a reader ask to buy the brown leather lovelies. After a couple months of trying to decide if I was willing to let them go, I said okay but suddenly, there is no word from the interested buyer. So... I decided to wear them today. Maybe the shoes and I were meant to stay together!

new makeup

A couple months ago, I received a gift card from Neiman Marcus for $25 and then I completely forgot about it. I had even purchased a Marc by Marc Jacobs cardigan that would have appreciated the use of the gift card. One thing I didn't notice about the gift card was that it has an expiration date and it had expired. I called NM and asked if they could make it still work. Luckily, they gave me a couple more weeks to use the gift card. My husband and I stopped by the mall so I could use it on some Chanel makeup. I don't know why but I'm on a Chanel makeup craze right now. I picked up a glossimer lip gloss in myriade and nail polish in vendetta. The lady didn't seem to be too happy when my total was only $20something.

I'll be getting some more makeup and beauty products this week, too. Barneys will be having their Love Yourself gift with purchase. I can't wait and I'll post more pictures when I get the stuff.

I love many styles of homes from tudor to craftsman to cape cod to mid-century modern. I dream of the day when I will have one of these kinds of homes for my own and my family. Shoot me if I end up with a traditional home.

Yesterday, my husband and I went to see a house in the mid-century modern style (among some shopping and eating). We picked the perfect day to visit it since there was an open house. I no longer had to see this home just from the exterior (as its listing only shows). It was quite an experience.

The visit was almost a historical field trip. The realtor gave us the history of the home. It was designed by architect Harold Prinz for him and his wife. They lived there until Mr. Prinz's death. Mrs. Prinz lived there for several months after but chose to put the house on the market and live closer to her grown children.

The original home was very small... a little over 1,000 sq. ft. It is also built off of a cliff. There was a carport in the front but the laws in 1948 didn't allow for attached garages or carports so he quickly converted the carport into an entry and changed the side entry to all windows. The house also had only 2 bedrooms. When him and his wife had a boy and a girl, they extended one of the bedrooms to have two mini-rooms. When the kids grew up, one of those rooms became his office and the other room became his wife's sewing/ crafts room. When you go out into the backyard, you are hit with luxurious landscaping. Cement steps lead you down to the backyard which leads to a small creek. Very little updates/ changes have occurred since the house was built.

During our visit, the realtor gave us two articles that featured the home- one was in Better Homes and Gardens in 1952 and one was in the Dallas Morning News on May 2008. I found the article online that features the glory this house once was.

The pictures above are hugely different than the pictures I took while there. You can see some amazing details, the design is great, and you can't help but be blown away by its story. Unfortunately, as beautiful as this house once was, it doesn't look quite the same. There is so much work to be done to this home. There is definite foundation issues (whatever holds the house on top of the cliff needs to be replaced), needs updates in the kitchen and bathrooms, windows need to be replaced, needs new ceilings (much of the house has the type of ceilings you see in your college classrooms), electrical rewiring, new central air conditioning, etc. Here is what we saw:

If I had the money and time, I would want to buy this house and make it what it once was. I can't even imagine how much it would be to restore it. With its awkward design flaws, it would be a challenge to make those spaces more livable. And with a small kitchen, how could I continue with one person's attempt to cook? I still want this house. It would suck if someone tore it down and built something ugly. What is its destiny?

I'm even waiting for a belated Christmas shiny high waist pair from a friend. The thing is... I don't usually choose to wear them up until recently. Now, I find myself grabbing them to wear under tunics, dresses, and long cardigans. I have already blogged about this, that, and the other but now I find myself mesmerized by the tie dye/ bleach leggings I'm seeing (I also wouldn't mind a leather pair either). I have had this le sac dress for quite awhile, played with it a few times, and was left baffled every time. Where the hell are you suppose to put the straps? To wear it the way I did, I put the side on the front, placed the straps over my shoulders, and then wrapped it around my waist a few times. If I didn't wear a dress over it, it would have looked kind of funny from the back because there is no neat way to place the straps. I'm still figuring it out.

I look fugly. I know it. I only have myself to blame. I woke up thinking... okay, I will wear jeans. Remember, today is jeans day for charity.

I love jeans. In the past, that's all I wanted to wear. But I don't love the jeans I have anymore but one (my cream Habituals) and I've been over wearing them. After thirty minutes of trying to make a pair of jeans work, I was over it. This is all I had time to do. You know when people wear their outfit on reserve because they know they like it... well, I'm not one of those people. I should. It would make mornings a lot easier because I hate mornings.

There was a highlight to today though. I stopped by Tasti D-Lite and got a chocolate banana and coconut swirl with some sliced bananas. Yummy.

I LOVE this cardigan. Finding it was an unexpected moment. While in Houston, during the Christmas holiday, a friend and I were at Rice Village. We happened to stop by the Gap. While we were both standing there, an employee walked passed by us and I couldn't help staring. She noticed it too and asked if I needed help. I wanted her sweater. It was on sale and there was literally 5 racks of them in grey, brown, and black. For $32, I should have bought all three colors but I resisted. If they had a million and one of them, surely the price will go down again and I can get myself more. So... I settled with just buying brown.

If I could (and not that I can't), I would be wearing it everyday. It is the most coziest thing to wear. I wear it at least 2 times a week.

Ready to buy the other two colors, I discovered that I couldn't. I probably called a half dozen stores with zero luck. How was that seriously possible? I also visited two stores. In two weeks, did everybody jump on the cozy cardigan bandwagon? It seems so because one person recognized it the first time I wore it to work and at one of the Gap stores I went to, a fat, old lady was wearing one. Ironically, that hasn't deterred my love for this cardigan.

I'm happy to say that I did score one more. I got another one in black (via online). I really wanted the grey one. We take what we can get, right? I'm hoping that a grey one in small shows up on eBay soon.

co-worker: For charity.

My work is trying to collect money for a school that was devastated by Hurricane Ike. To be honest, I forgot about it. To be honest, I didn't care to pay $5 to wear jeans. But now that I think about it, I feel like a selfish pig for not donating my share. Going to my come-to source for information, I looked up Hurrican Ike on Wikipedia which let me know it was the 3rd devastating hurricane of the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season. Luckily, today was not "jeans day." It's actually Thursday. So... I'll pitch in my part but I don't really care about the jeans. Until I own a pair of Acne or Current/ Elliot, I don't really have any interest in wearing a pair.

Nylon filled the gap by showing all the pictures from the lookbook. Now, it's my turn to continue this domino effect.

It's time now for me to save money because I feel the need to buy (almost) all of it. At least, buy everything I have any remote interest in and then decide later if it works or not. I just hope that it will be available online because if I have to rely on going to my nearest Target, I'm going to be pissed off. I hardly doubt it will last a day in stores.

The line completely fulfills my style aesthetic. I'm in constant search for the perfect unbasic basics. The mix of blues and pinks with black and grey work for me. No, it does not showcase his outrageous designs. Yes, maybe it's McQueen for Americans. I'm no longer 21... I have a profession (that is unfortunately unrelated to fashion or creativity)...blah blah blah.

What's my point? I'm very excited about McQ for Target. I'm going to have a hard time waiting until March to get my hands on it. I want it now.

I've been wanting to try Davines shampoos and conditioners ever since I fell head over heels for the Davines Crystal Fixative Lacquer No. 7, the best hairspray EVER!

When I found Blush Beauty, I was super happy. Not only did I found my regularly priced $32 hairspray for a much better price of $21.05, I discovered that they sold travel-sized kits, too. I decided to try out two. And I have to say... I am so happy that I decided to make a smaller investment in travel sizes because the verdict is... nothing beats Bumble & bumble's gentle shampoo and super rich conditioner.

At the same time, it was fine to try something new and get the curiosity bug out of me.

Yes, they fill their bottles only about 3/4ths full.

I wore this yesterday. The day was pretty and a sweater was just enough to keep me cozy. I brought a scarf just in case it got cooler. That didn't happen.

I love this sweater so much, I ordered another one in black. I wish I had my hands on a grey one when I had the chance but they are nowhere to be found. It's the kind of sweater that your grandma would love to wear but rocks on you so much more.

And yes, I knit. I'm thinking about pulling out the needles and some yarn and making something... just not another scarf. Okay, I just now realized I lied. I want to make a circular scarf thingy so I can pull it over my head or where it on my head if necessary, and keep warm. I wish I knew where to find the yarn I used to make this scarf... I love it so much.

I decided to start a second blog- a food blog. I'll try to make it interesting. My first plan was to showcase tools and appliances that I love. But it should be more than that... so, when I actually get a chance to cook, I'll take pictures and share the recipes. I should share with you food that I like, too. So... I was in a car accident on Christmas Eve. I don't think I mentioned it. There were a lot of cars involved but I was lucky to come out with no injuries or car damage... so I thought. My insurance company made me come in to have pictures taken of my car and I finally went in today. No visible damage (unless you get really close and squint your eyes) equals $724 worth of damage. Damn. Now, I just have to decide if I really want to have my car repaired because like I said... you can't see anything.

I wanted this dress in black. Made a rush order when I saw it selling out on Target online. Then tried it on at the store (surprised to see a heavy helping of most things worth getting) and realized that I ordered a size too big. I suddenly ached for the blue version... probably because I didn't take the small opportunity I had to get it. In the end, I'm happy with black. It suits me more. I felt pretty.

I had a conversation that went somewhat like this:

co-worker A: Would you wear grey pants with a red sweater?
me: Yes, why?
co-worker A: My black sweater is losing it's shape and co-worker B said to wear it with red.
me: Grey is a neutral. It goes with everything.
co-worker A: Really?

Of course, I most likely wouldn't wear grey pants with red because I don't really wear red. But, really... do you not see that grey is pretty basic? I don't know why this person even asks my opinion because I like black with brown and black with navy when most people don't. I don't know how much she values my opinion.

There are several things I want to add to my wardrobe: poncho/ cape, trench coat, slouchy boots, blazers, multifunction clothing, ...

And then I saw these heels. I noticed them a short while back. They are platform, peep-toe, and pretty. Now, I notice they are $73 at Oak. There are two things stopping me: they are not really on my buy list and maybe they will go cheaper.

I don't know much about Bless. I just know they are based in Berlin, they consist of several collaborators, they make numerous products, and their clothes are pretty kick ass. I'm suddenly needing more functionality in my clothing and Bless fits this need. Wear it like this, that, or the other. It all looks good. It's hard to find their stuff. There's a little bit at Oak, some at Stand Up Comedy, and a little more at Ooga Booga. I would like to start with these two items below (though I wish their sweater poncho was still around).

I was talking about scarves with a friend tonight. She's developed a newfound interest in scarves. Only having the one I bought her from American Apparel, she's bought 3 in the last month. I told her I have a million and one. Then, I was browsing Blogspot blogs and saw one of the Olsens. There was a photo of Mary-Kate wearing a seriously fabulous scarf to the screening of "Benjamin Button." I read that it's by Louis Vuitton. I wish I had $725 to blow.

It got me on a mini search for a similar scarf only to find a piece of lovely at Barneys. I wouldn't mind having one. They come in five color options and happen to be on sale. When Barneys says they are having their up to 75% off sale, why couldn't this item be one of them? *sigh*

Polaroids are timeless. I wished I use mine more and I was sad to hear that they were disappearing (is this truth or fiction?). In any case, Fashionista let me know of Poladroid. You can make your own Polaroids with your digital pictures. I went to the site and downloaded the application. I have to say it's a pretty cool little tool. You just click on the shortcut on your desktop and a Polaroid camera opens up. Then, you drag one of your pictures to the camera and voila... a Polaroid pops out. You can grab it and shake it as you wait for it to develop. Once it's ready, it will be saved in your pictures folder. It comes out true, kind of fuzzy Polaroid style. It's pretty much guaranteed fun! Until I get bored, I'm going to use it for the blog.

You can't tell but my under sweater is purple. The weather has been uber nice, too, so I pulled out my Old Navy wedges. It's been a nice change of pace.

Something is going on with Language. 1- There inventory is limited. 2- They have a coupon code "final sale" which gives you 60% off your entire purchase. Ummm... that's a lot. Could they be closing?

I was hoping to buy some Iosselliani jewelry but there isn't anything to choose from. In an effort to waste time, I decided to see what they have. This Koyuki Houndstooth capelet caught my eye. I have been wanting something like this (just not necessarily in houndstooth). With 60% off, I can get it for $70. Do I really want it?

I'm obsessing over this faux leather hoody. I wouldn't even have noticed it if it wasn't for my brother. We were in American Apparel while I was doing an exchange. It caught my brother's eye but they didn't have the size he wanted and he decided it looked too much like a rain slicker. We went back another day and I decided to try it on. X-small fit but I wanted to see how small would look. There was no small to try on. Since then, I can't stop thinking about it. Maybe one of the AAs here will have it. Would you agree it's pretty sweet?
